Remote Collar Training Seminar Available to Syracuse-Area Dog Owners
Dogs and Dog-Owners Can Learn About New Advances in Remote Training Technology During Hands-On Weekend Seminar
August 12, 2011 – Syracuse, NY - Frank Bonomo of Best Friend’s Dog Training and Lorraine Siena Reid of Happy Paws K-9 Academy are bringing their show on the road! These two New York-based dog trainers have teamed up for a new traveling training seminar. The uniqueness of this program is attributed to the varied approaches and multiple training methodologies that Bonomo and Siena Reid have become well known for using.
“Unlike many trainers, who take a “one-size-fits-all” approach to dog training, we believe that there is no one “right” way to train, but rather, the training method must fit the individual dog and the dog’s needs, as well as the handler’s capabilities.” says Bonomo.
This seminar is the perfect solution for dog owners who are short on time and funds- but need immediate results!
This training course is a weekend-long, hands-on training seminar held on private property on Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th. While advanced dog trainers are welcome, the average pet owner is going to be amazed at their results. Participants should bring their own dogs so that they can immediately begin work on their dog’s problem areas.
This session will give dog owners the tools they need to have a happier, healthier and better behaved dogs in just 48 hours - something that might otherwise take weeks or even months.  The owners will spend the weekend working with their own dogs and will learn how to stop unwanted behaviors such as jumping on people, pulling on the leash, unwanted barking, and more. All of this will quickly be achieved without owners raising their voices at their dog, or utilizing outdated and dangerous dominance exercises. “There are many different training methods out there and in time you will have a well-trained dog; however, why should you spend two years getting the same results we can get in one weekend?” says Siena Reid.
The reason for this massive jump in improvement is the use of modern remote collar techniques. All participants will learn about advances in this technique as well as how to incorporate methods they may already know, such as leash and clicker-training.
Participants in the weekend will learn about remote collars, how to maintain their dog’s attention (even with lots of distractions), off-leash control, pet training and sport dog training. Pet owners with difficult or impaired dogs are also welcome! This could include blind, deaf, aggressive or shy dogs.
Bonomo and Siena Reid have successfully trained thousands of dogs – including family pets, therapy dogs, narcotics detection and police work canines and hunting companions. The idea for this traveling seminar was conceived when the two worked together at Canine Club Getaway, engaging in intensive training sessions to help facilitate the social experience between dogs and humans in a busy environment filled with distractions. By implementing their joint training methodology, they were able to see immediate results:  After just one session, dogs with various social or behavioral issues were able to play together- happily and without incident. Owners relaxed, knowing their dogs were happy, safe and under control.
The two-day session, the first in a series to be offered throughout the Northeast, will take place on Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th in Syracuse, NY. The cost of this session is an affordable $199 and location information will be provided to participants. Space is limited, and reservations are required.
